Meeting of October 26, 2009

Attending: Maria Daniels, Alexa Mase, Will Tenney

The meeting was called to order at 7:10 pm.

Conflict of Interest Guidelines. The MCC's new guidelines were discussed. Maria will coordinate filing of forms with Medford city clerk prior to voting meeting on Monday 11/2.
New members. Former member Anita Tucker attended the meeting and expressed her willingness to rejoin the group. She has fulfilled the required one year hiatus from council service. Maria will help request her re-appointment by the Mayor's office.
Treasurer's Report. The council's balance as of today is $18,852.51 and includes $14,950.20 in unreimbursed but encumbered grant funds. This amount does not reflect our 2010 allocation, which is not yet deposited.
Proposal review. Since there isn't a quorum present voting cannot take place. General discussion of specific proposals. Issues to follow up:

Suggested application form change. Under “project information” section 2, change “How would partial funding impact this project?” to “How would less than full funding impact this project?”
Grant proposals that may fail to meet state or local guidelines. At issue are evidence of local planning and/or whether a proposal fits into the rubric of arts/humanities/interpretive sciences. To be discussed and voted upon next meeting. Members will review state and local guidelines.
